Decentralized society: what components empower the growth of decentralization? — new Medium article by Dr Mark van Rijmenam

A few years ago, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, creator of World Wide Web, shared a new vision. He imagined the Internet would once again become the decentralised system he had initially envisioned. In 2017, Berners-Lee launched the startup Inrupt to «decentralize the internet» and introduced Solid POD, an open-source technology. It would allow internet users to store and share their data with anyone or any site connected to the Solid ecosystem.

However, specific components are needed to build a decentralised society, without which the ecosystem will not be ready for full-scale implementation. Let’s break down what it takes to create the new Internet.
